Wild WorldMotorcycle Road Racing......... January 31 End to End - The Back Road ScratchWell, things are moving along well now with our ride from Lands End to John O'Groats. In April, myslef & 11 of of the crew from flying sparks will be riding from LE - JOG using A & B roads avioding all motorways. I think at one point we may have to use a little bit but not for long, motorways are boring, lol. Included in the 12 riders is racing ace and all round top dude Gary Dickinson as well as one other yet to be confirmed racing star. Crazy Blanket has been excelling himself by managing to pull in tyre sponsor Avon who will be supplying tyres for the team. Dan the Man has brought Royal Mail on board by suppling us with a back up Van and a percentage of deisel fuel. And not to forget our Gordie animal Smiler who has recieved interest from several factors. It's all getting very exciting and I really can't wait. We have got our route map planned in and all the guys are well on the way to raising funds for the charities.
Here is the link to our website that Crazy has set up (and what an amazing job he's done) www.end2endfund.com people can donate via paypal once we have it up and running. In the mean time peeps can donate by cheque or funds transfer.
As for my preparations, the SP1 is in strip down mode getting a good clean and service. Hoping to get a move on with this over the next month and have it all ready by the end of February. It's hard to find the time though, lol.
I'll put a few pictures of the the bike all naked, engineering porn that it I tell ya! Lol!
Wilbawild January 06 2007 - A mega year!!!Oh man, I'm bloody pumped about this years events. 100 years of TT this June is set to be bloody awsome and will be the highlight of the year for myself. A full fortnight on the IOM watching them crazy lads zoom past a warp speed! Wicked!
Staying at Glenlough Farm again this year should prove to be a top time as many of the crew from www.flying-sparks.org will be there too. I'll be on my trusty steed the SP1 again this year for some fun laps of the circuit and will hopefuly be filming some onboard footage with my new camcorder. I really can't wait, it's going to be grouse! Sick Joy!!!!
This April, myself and 11 other riders will be riding from Lands End to John o Groats for charity. We are hoping to raise a good wedge of cash for the Air Ambulance and Paramedic Supplies from around the course. All going well it should be a great ride and for a great cause. More on thi as it develops.
Speaking of Flying Sparks above, we had a big problem with the site at the end of last year and had to shut it down. Fortunatley thanks to the hard work of Floyd & Kev we are now back on-line but with a small change to the name. We are now an .org rather than a .com but that doesn't matter one bit and its all back and going strong.
Anway, enough for now
Later dudes and dudets! July 25 Fast and Furious!!!Well it's been a while since I've added anything to my space so I thought I'd pull the finger out.
It's been a great year so far for road racing. TT06 was a huge success and personally the best one so far out of the past three years. Blisteringly hot weather made for spectacular racing and records where smashed again and again. John McGuinness was awesome as usual but my stand out riders where Ian Hutchinson & Cameron Donald, and I can't miss off my favourite flying Kiwi Bruce Anstey.
Top racer and fellow Sparky Keith Stewart had an unfortunate spill at the 33rd milestone at 130mph plus and suffered several broken bones and was all plastered up when we went to see him Nobles Hospital. Keith being a hardy fella was fairly up beat about it all and even had the silly notion that he'd let us down! We were all just happy he was alive and kicking. Get well soon Boxcar, then we can cheer you on good and proper!
As usual my hair was shaved into it's TT traditional mohawk plus the addition of the three legs of man shaved into the side. It's now a great way for my Flying Sparks mates to spot me in a crowd. The Sparky crew where in great form again this year. Our planned ride out went well and most races and prctices where well attended by the crew, not to forget the drunken dibortury taking place each night!!!!
The new bike (Honda VTR1000 SP1) ran like a dream and really lover the mountain course. The only night I didn't get on the piss was the Sunday night of Mad Sunday as I was up early for a couple of hot laps at 5am the next day. I'd have to say that was the best couple of laps I've had, what a rush! Need I say I was somewhat naughty, but much to my relief there where no police about!
After the TT came Skerries for me. My first time in Ireland and I can definatelysay not my last. What a great weekend. Superb racing on an amazingly dodgy road surface and to top it off fellow countryman Camron Donald (SuperCam) did the bizz and made the others look like they where stood still. Ok, maybe and exaderation but he was spectacular.
The Saturday night saw many a pint of the black stuff consumed which went down far too easliy. Only a small contingent of the Sparky crew attended this one butwe made up for all the others not there! The locals might not want us back next year though, LOL!!!!!
The next race meet I attended was the Cock of the North at Scarborough. As usual it was a fantastic meet with great racing and great company. A mega turn out for the Sparks crew and a fab time had by all.
Unfortunately there was a tragic incident in the Sidecar classes with dedicated chairman Colin Hardman loosing his life. A sad loss to the sport and my condolences go out to his firends and family. Sincere wishes to Gary Bryan for his quick and full recovery.
Racing contuned the followign day with Ian Hutchinson riding an amazing race to take the Cock Trophy. The Carrot Cruncher Guy Martin was in fine for also and had a very successful outing.
Next up for me will be the Gold Cup and I'm looking forward to another great meeting with all my good friends on Flying Sparks. Roll on September!!!
I will up load my pictures and videos as soon as possible. I have several video clips which you can view on my photobucket page which I will link in the LINKS section.
Keep er lit!

January 23 Real Road RacingIf you've ever riden a motorcycle you will know that it is one of the most enjoyable and exilarating expericences you can get as the average joe. I love riding motorbikes especially my Honda VTR1000 SP1 and recently did my first trackday at Cadwell Park North Lincolnshire.
Now motorbike racing is great but you can't beat the real racing and thats on the road. England, Ireland and the Isle of Man are home to some of the best road racing you will ever see with the likes of the IOM TT and Manx GP, Ireland's Ulster GP, Skerries, NW200 and Kells road races, and of course Scarborough's Olivers Mount Gold Cup and Cock 'o' the North Races situated on Englands east coast.
I've been to 2 TT's & quite a few Scarborough meets and made may friends along the way who all enjoy this amazing sport. I hope to get over to Ireland this year for the first time to watch the Skerries road races in July.
I usually have my digi camera at hand and try to get a few snaps and video clips of the completely mad but very brave riders as they hurtle around the course and I will post what I can here in my photo gallery.
I have several video clips of the TT and Scarborough racing which can be found on my putfile account, follow the link in the Websites catagory on my home page. You can also view more photos and video clips and join the motorbike forums at the websites listed on my home page.
All the sites listed there are biker friendly sites but the one that I particulary like is Flying Sparks. I have made many a good friend through this site and find them all to be sound caring individuals, and all have a great sense of humour. (believe me you need one on there! Lol!!!!)
Anyway, enough drible from me, check out the pics and stuff, I'll try to keep them as up to date as possible and add new ones regularly.
Feel free to leave any comment in the blog section!
Later
